Serious The Cleveland Browns’ 2018 season came to an end today
Author Message
The Cleveland Browns’ 2018 season came to an end today #1
and unlike so many other previous ones , this one is sad to see end. I talk about the game and the season during the final postgame Ez Does It of the year.Baker Mayfield did end up setting the rookie passing record, and also did a whole bunch of other really impressive things this year. The future is quite bright, even if his performance today was shakier than what we’ve become accustomed to. Also, the NCAA College playoff paradigm - just felt like it was worth touching on (and a nice break-away from thinking about the game).Basically Notre Dame should have never been considered for a variety of reasons. Also, what about coaches of teams who have made the playoffs but still start their stars? After that it’s all about the head coaching question. After that question will come the one about the few players that we need to consider resigning (say have you ever noticed that we took THREE former first round picks that other teams had given up and saw them basically resurrect their careers with us?Have you noticed that?) and then, of course, the draft.Give a listen by hitting the player at the top of the screen, the widget in between the article and comments’ section (of not just this but every DBN article), by subscribing via pretty much all the available podcast services, or by hitting up this action box:Going to close this out with something different.Last week our friend ShockerBrown was at the home win vs. Cincinnati, and was good enough to capture some of it on digital film. What follows is a collection or random photos with no further context, starting with the Rally Possum! More of the latest Browns news and notes from around the web in today’s dose of the Saturday Dawg Chow." />Skip to main contentclockmenumore-arrownoyesHorizontal - WhiteDawgs EDTShareTweetShareShareSaturday Dawg Chow: Browns news (5/4/19)Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY SportsCleveland BrownsBig Grinrew Forbes brings nasty side to the Browns ( - On the football field, Drew Forbes is nasty. Off the field, Forbes is not. His wife, Emily Nick Chubb Jersey , prefers you think of him as the latter, even if his on-field persona landed him a job in the NFL.Austin Seibert credits Baker Mayfield for planting feisty streak ( - Austin Seibert wielded the busiest foot in Dallas last Oct. 6, kicking a field goal, nailing six extra points, averaging close to 50 yards on punts, and kicking off A LOT. It wasn’t enough. Seibert and the Oklahoma Sooners dropped a 48-45 game to Texas. It was quite the bummer, the only regular-season defeat all year. Seibert felt slightly better the next day. His former college teammate Baker Mayfield helped the Browns knock off the Baltimore Ravens. It was Mayfield’s first NFL win as a starter.Freddie Kitchens is not joking about Greedy Williams ( - When Freddie Kitchens jumped on the phone April 26 to welcome Greedy Williams to the Browns, he finished the call by saying, “You’re going to have to tackle a little bit now, you know that, right?” Williams responded, “it’s never been a problem.” Kitchens seemed to be saying it in jest, but cleared that up on Friday.Greedy Williams embraces fall into the second round (Browns Zone) - Greedy Williams was already in Nashville, Tenn., for the NFL Draft when he asked the key question to linebacker Devin White Chad Thomas Color Rush Jersey , an LSU teammate and friend. “I was like, ‘So everybody at the draft gets drafted, right?’” Williams said, referring to the first round. “He was like, ‘No, a couple people didn’t get drafted last year.’ So I’m like, ‘Oh, my God.’” Williams’ worry was justified.NFL:How the Giants fell head over heels for Daniel Jones (ESPN) - Larry McNulty’s voice drops as he talks of that day his quarterback at North Carolina’s Charlotte Latin School almost snapped in half. His tone indicates a cross between amazement and admiration. These same qualities were evident when Giants coach Pat Shurmur sat down to watch Daniel Jones’ tape at Duke. It’s why he was sold on his future franchise quarterback.Bears kickers still can’t convert from 43 yards ( - Finding a kicker has become as difficult for the Chicago Bears as it was for their last one to convert a clutch attempt against the Philadelphia Eagles. In the aftermath of Cody Parkey missing -- it was technically blocked -- a now-infamous 43-yard field goal attempt against the Eagles in the Bears’ 16-15 NFC Wild Card loss, the Bears have been searching for a new kicker. The search has missed its mark thus far.Packers sign six draft picks (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel) - The Green Bay Packers entered their rookie orientation camp with only two signings to go Friday after inking six of their eight draft picks and 11 undrafted free agents. First-round picks Rashan Gary (No. 12) and Darnell Savage (No. 21) both finished deals with the club, making them two of the first players in their round to complete contract agreements. Savage is believed to have been the first when he agreed to terms Thursday, and it’s likely Gary’s deal was done at the same time or a short time later.Ranking the top landing spots for Ndamukong Suh (CBS Sports) - Both the initial free agency wave and the NFL draft have come and gone. We’re technically deep into the 2019 NFL offseason now, but there’s an important date coming up: May 7, the day after which players can be signed and no longer count against the league’s compensatory pick formula. That means some veterans who are still languishing out there on the market are about to become much more sought-after.One such player is defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh.
